Exit Strategy

The map out of this mess does not yet exist, though fragments of it are scattered throughout the art world
They can be found in poems and paintings and songs and movies and books and plays and so on
From yesterday’s dusty classic, to today’s undiscovered gem
From the most profound philosophical discourse, to the childish riddles on the side of a cereal box
Products of the creative human spirit generate evocative impulses that propel us forward in unforeseen ways
Whatever the form, art, by its very existence, proves that we are all co-creators of reality
However limited our reach may be, everything we touch is thereby changed
Our lives trace an eternal mark on the soul of the universe

My Life is a Raindrop Falling

When a drop of rain falls upon the sea
It becomes the sea
Now set free
Every shore is its boundary
From hot sands draped in steaming greenery
To frozen lands wrapped in ice
The tides dance eternally
But the same rain never falls twice
This life journey
Is a brief infinity
For me to be
A single drop of water apart from the sea
Together with others
Yet also alone
A solo ocean of my own
Until we meet again
Then You will contain all that remains
Of my joy
Of my pain
Of whatever was gained
When every wave I made fades away

About Joseph Mondragon:

"I stumbled upon process philosophy in 2006 through Hartshorne's The Logic of Perfection purchased on a whim at a secondhand bookshop.  It made so much sense while also being so confusing.  Now after many years and books and articles and conversations, I can say that process philosophy makes much more sense while still being gloriously confusing.  And so it goes.

Creative expression through visual art, music and writing is a lifetime passion.  I am recovering from a rare neurological disorder.  I currently reside in Eugene Oregon."
